Lady Gaga was open and vuknerable during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
For the premiere episode of “The Me You Can’t See,” a new docuseries co-created by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, Gaga talked about being sexually assaulted as a teenager a d revealed she got pregnant by her rapist who she has refused to name.
The singer recalled the harrowing experience noting that she suffered a “total psychotic break” years after the ordeal passed.
Speaking on her trauma, Gaga said,
“I was 19 years old, and I was working in the business, and a producer said to me, ‘Take your clothes off, and I said no. And I left, and they told me they were going to burn all my music.
“And they didn’t stop. They didn’t stop asking me, and then I just froze and I just … I don’t even remember.” She added, “I understand this #Metoo movement, I understand that some others feel really comfortable with this, and I do not, I do not ever want to face that person again,” the singer said while explaining why she will not name her alleged attacker. “This system is so abusive, it’s so dangerous.”
Gaga noted that she has gone on to have good years but it only takes an event or something small to get her triggered a d take her back to a very bad place . Bad enough that she thinks if dying.
“The Me You Can’t See” is a show that aims to tackle the stigma around mental health.
